The Power of Powerpoint

My experience with Powerpoint   When I went to school, Powerpoint was frequently used by teachers as a tool to provide education. My first use of Powerpoint was as a student in Primary School. I don't exactly remember the tasks but I had to create a presentation of some sort. For me, and I'd say for most of my class mates, I spent 80% of the time selecting my background. I would expirement by mixing and matching various colours to create the best background. Overtime I have used Powerpoint to create my fair share of presentations; and I don't spend as long selecting my back ground. I have a fair knowledge of Powerpoints tools and possibilities. However, I'd admit my creativity with Powerpoint is not the greatest. I"ve used Powerpoint to combine images and text to create presenatations that support oral presentations. Images for Learning

When people think about school, they think about sitting behind a desk, and listening to a teacher talk at them, or writing down information from the board, or reading through large sums of text. Certainly when I think about my time at school, I remember the most common way to learn was through text. HOW BORING! Although I do understand that text has its place and is sometimes the most appropriate way to deliver learning. The utilisaion of media in learning has the potential to create high quality learning experiences for students. In particular using images for learning can provide learning experiences that cannot be repliacted via learning soley through text.  Images hold a lot of information. They can be used to communicate (e.g. emogis), represent ideas, provide evidence, and tell stories. Sometimes it is more appropriate to use images instead of text.
